Digital Thermohygrometer

PC-7300GTI

JAN code : 4974425802043

Calibration : Available

JCSS Accredited Calibration : Available

Based on a measured temperature and humidity, this thermohygrometer calculates WBGT index and volumetric humidity to show.

It also converts volumetric humidity into influenza index to notify of the risk in three steps.

With index bars on sides and a WBGT alarm, PC-7300GTI helps maintain the comfort ambient.

 WBGT index

Displays a cautious level of heat stress corresponding to WBGT in four steps

WBGTType of physical activity to be warnedRemarks
Danger
31°C or more
Any physical activityRisk of heat stress is high for the elderly, even when they rest. Avoid going out and stay in a cool room.
Severe warning
28 to 31°C
Avoid direct sunlight outdoors and watch for any rise in room temperature indoors.
Warning
25 to 28°C
Moderate to vigorous physical activityTake adequate rest regularly when exercising or doing vigorous work.
Caution
25°C or less
Vigorous physical activityLow in risk basically, but high in risk when doing vigorous exercise or heavy labor.

* "28 to 31°C" above means 28°C or higher, lower than 31°C

What is WBGT:
WBGT is an acronym of wet bulb globe temperature, which is an index introduced from three elements related to biological heat balance: temperature, humidity, and heat radiation.
PC-7300GTI calculates WBGT from temperature and humidity based on the guideline "Heat Stress Prevention Guidelines for Daily Life Ver. 4" by Japanese Society of Biometeorology.

 Influenza index

Displays a cautious level in three steps based on volumetric humidity.

Volumetric humidity (g/m3)Survival
rate of
viruses
Environment for virusesCountermeasures
Danger7g or less20%Suitable for viruses. High risk of infectionIncrease temperature and humidity by using a humidifier
Warning7 to 11g5%Viruses can survive. Be cautious of infectionAvoid a decrease in temperature and humidity
Mostly safe11 to 17gNearly 0%Viruses cannot surviveKeep temperature and humidity at a reasonable level

What are volumetric humidity and influenza index:
Volumetric humidity is mass of water vapor contained in a unit volume of air.
It can be used as a barometer of the probability of epidemics of seasonal influenza according to a report of "Absolute humidity as a deterministic factor affecting seasonal influenza epidemics in Japan" by Makoto Shoji.

Temperature, humidity, and their maximum and minimum

Pressing of Max/Min key switches the indication of current temperature/humidity to the maximum and minimum temperature/humidity of the day and the previous day.

Current temp./humidity Maximum temp./humidity Minimum temp./humidity
Display example Today's maximum temp./humidity Yesterday's minimum temp./humidity

At 0:00 midnight today's maximum and minimum data changes to yesterday's data, and the previous yesterday's data is erased automatically.

 Clock, WBGT, volumetric humidity

Pressing of Mode key changes the indication of clock to WBGT and volumetric humidity in sequence.

Clock WBGT Volumetric humidity

12-h/24-h notation Unit: °C Unit: g/m3

Can be used as an alarm clock

WBGT alarm equipped to alert when it exceeds the set level

Description

■ Caution

Each value of WBGT and influenza indexes is a rough estimation to help consider health management. It does not directly protect you from heat stroke or influenza.
Indicated alerts may vary from an official alert from a government.
